Department of oral diseases & dental surgery had it’s inception with the aim to
provide quality general dental health care at affordable cost. This unit of
Moulana hospital has rare distinction of achieving the standards & guidelines
set by Faculty of General Dental Practitioners(U.K) from Royal College of
Surgeons of England, London (December 2004). This department comprises the
service of a dental surgeon & visiting services of orthodontist & periodontist.
This department is recognised for dental trauma care
especially for ‘RE-IMPLANTATION’ (click here for slides). Around 80 successful
cases of re-implantation is so far been performed in past 4 years apart from
general dental care management, cosmetic dentistry, rehabilitative dental
therapy including fixed & post core dental prosthesis.
This department has been regularly upgraded to be abreast with
latest advents in dental sciences & boosts with state of the art equippments &
materials. |

The
head of this department is Dr.Sameer T.A.

Presently Dr.Sameer is pursuing post–graduate diploma of Membership of the
Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (UK) from Royal College of Surgeons
of England, London with clinical sessions at College of Dental Sciences,
Manipal academy for higher education(MAHE), Manipal(click to view the
faculty). Dr Sameer has passed the practicals (DEC 2004) with department
headed by him at Moulana hospital, Perinthalmanna as the point of work for
the diploma thus achieving the distinction of meeting the standards &
guidelines set by Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (UK).
Dr Sameer.T.A,
graduated from Bangalore Institute Of Dental Sciences, Bangalore
(Sep1999), an institute known for orthognathic surgery, implants & other
facial cosmetic procedure. Dr Sameer has served as an assistant to
Dr.Prafulla Thumati from Bangalore(Sept1999-Sept2000) a renowned Maxillo-facial
prosthodontist & Implantologist, trained here for cosmetic dentistry along
with fixed & total oral rehabilitation.
Presently, Dr.Sameer is Hon.Treasurer & formerly Vice-president of Indian
Dental Associatio(IDA), Malappuram & also in the editorial panel of Journal
of Indian Dental Association, Malappuram.
Dr Sameer has authored articles in English(click here) & Malayalam
(click here) on dentistry which have been featured in leading national(THE
NEW INDIAN EXPRESS) & Malayalam news dailies & weeklies.

hospital has rare distinction of achieving the standards set by Faculty of
General Dental Practitioners (UK) Royal College of Surgeons of England, London,
first in Malappuram district.
In recognisation
to ethical practise & community dental service in Malappuram district,
Dr.Sameer.T.A. was elected as vice-president of Indian Dental Association (IDA)
Malappuram(2003-04). At the age of 26 years he is the youngest to hold such a
position in the association.
The department
since it’s inception 4 years back as so far performed 80 successful cases of
reimplantation of single & multiple avulsed teeth as part of dental trauma
care. Prominent Malayalam dailies (Malayala Manorama, Mathrubhumi, Deepika)

This department is referral center for dental care for cardiac patients from
AIMS, Kochi & Medical trust hospital Kochi. Oral cancer patients for dental
needs from Regional cancer center , Trivandrum
The
