B.Sc Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four year degree course of study in a College of Nursing affiliated to University of Calicut with one year compulsory internment after the successful completion of the four year course. The main purpose of this programme is to prepare professional nursing graduates who will be able to render comprehensive health care to all, in various settings and participate and co-ordinate nursing service and nursing education at different levels. Objectives 1. Assess health status, identify nursing needs, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients that contribute to health of the individuals, families and communities. 2. Demonstrate competency in rendering quality health care and techniques of nursing care. 3. Participate as members of health team in the preventive, promotive, and restorative health care delivery system of the country. 4. Demonstrate leadership quality and decision making abilities in various situations. 5. Develop basic skills in nursing research. 6. Utilitise resources for continued learning for their personal and professional development. 7. Demonstrate beginning skills in teaching, management, interpersonal relations and communications. 8. Contribute efficiently as responsible citizen and practice ethical values in their personal and professional life. Duration of the course 4 years Theory + 1 year compolsory intenship. Eligibility for admission a) Candidates for admission to the course of Bachelor of Science in Nursing shall be required to have passed the qualifying examination as per directions of the Government/University. Tuition Fees, Special Fees, University Examination Fees, fee for Recognition of examinations of other Universities / bodies, affiliation fee etc are to be paid by the candidates. Qualifying Examination Plus 2 / Pre-Degree with Physics, Chemistry Biology with not less than 50% marks INTAKE 50 Students
